The whole love thing...

A Happy Valentine's Day to all...or anti-Valentine's as the case may be.

On February 8th, the 6 year old son of my old station manager at CJSR, Daryl Richel, passed away from Burkitt's Leukemia. Yesterday was the memorial for this little boy and the only way to describe it was heart-breaking. I've dealt with a lot of death in my life, but far and away, there is nothing more tragic than to see such a vibrant young life snuffed out too soon.

But the one heartening thing was seeing how much love surrounded Owen during his short life. So for Owen, and in the spirit of today, just remind everyone you care about how much you love them.

And let's be nice to each other...smoochies all!

When I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain,
Before high-piled books, in charactery,
Hold like rich garners the full ripen'd grain;
When I behold, upon the night's starr'd face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And think that I may never live to trace
Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance;
And when I feel, fair creature of an hour,
That I shall never look upon thee more,
Never have relish in the faery power
Of unreflecting love;--then on the shore
Of the wide world I stand alone, and think
Till love and fame to nothingness do sink.
